3 Assorted Mini Alebrijes

For the Zapoteca people, every soul comes to this world along with a guardian spirit in the form of an animal. It is called “EL NAHUAL”. Alebrijes are the artistic representation of this sacred belief.
Alebrijes are made of light copal wood, the sacred tree of the Zapoteca people, which gives life to these fantastic animals.
San Martin Tilcajete is a Zapoteca town that means “place where they paint”. Families have dedicated themselves to making Alebrijes for generations.
